This camera was very easy to set up and the picture is suprisingly clear (not dvd quality). I'm sure it would be better with a more expensive system, but it is OK for the price paid. There was no static and I can see colors and faces clearly, picture is a little darker than the room, however. I purchased the optional add-on camera and discovered that you are not able to view both pictures/rooms simutaneously. There is another model that does that, so I may exchange this one. You actually have to change the channel on the receiver to view the other picture/room, so that is not helpful if you are using the camera to record more than one room while you are away. But if you are just watching the camera while at home it is OK.
